He has over 20 contest titles.
When Brandon was 17, he got his first road gig playing with Melvin Goins and Windy Mountain. Since then he has played for The Wildwood Valley Boys, The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show, and Dave Peterson &1946. He currently plays for the bluegrass band Wildfire. He has released two solo projects, “A Step in Time” and “To Fiddle or Not to Fiddle.”
Brandon learned to play the fiddle by ear. He has studied with numerous teachers, including Blanche Coldiron (old-time fiddler), Harold Zimmerman (old-time/contest fiddler), Jeff Guernsey (bluegrass/contest/country/swing fiddler), Daniel Carwile (contest/bluegrass/swing fiddler), Paul Patterson (violinist for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra/gypsy jazz violinist), Christina Hartke-Towell (classical violinist/strings teacher), Gordon Towell (Jazz teacher/performer) and Glenn Ginn (Jazz teacher/performer). He atteneded Morehead State University as a Jazz Studies major for two years.
As for teaching experience, he has been teaching privately since the 8th grade. Through the rest of his school years he had anywhere from 2-5 students every week from the ages of 5-65. While attending college at Morehead State University he started and taught a violin program at the Rowan County Christian Academy, while also teaching privately.
Brandon, now 20-years-old, resides in Nashville, TN, where he is traveling with bands on the road, teaching, and pursuing a college degree in music business.
